Milton is conveniently located off major highways including route 128, interstate 95, and interstate 93. It is also a short taxi ride from Logan International Airport in Boston. The town has three gas stations, two of which are conveniently located near the highway exits.

The Ashmont-Mattapan Trolley line runs between Mattapan Square and Ashmont station with four stops in Milton.

• The Powder House (Canton Ave. near the Milton Public Library). With roots from the revolutionary war, the famous powder house stands the original powder house that was used to house gun powder and guns during the war. 

• The Wharf. Milton was trade town due to its location near water. The wharf is now home to a restaurant, apartments, and the Milton Yacht Club. The Wharf is next to another historic area of Milton known as Lower Mills. 

• Walter Baker Chocolate Factory. The old chocolate factory, recently renovated into upscale housing complexes, is located in the heart of “Lower Mills.”

Cunningham Park, established in 1904, is one of the largest public parks in milton. Here, you can find the towns public pool that opens in early June and closes in late august. Pool passes as well as swimming lessons are offered throughout the summer season at the price of $100 per family and $2 per pass. The park also includes a community meeting hall known as Cunningham Hall. The Hall is available for use by all local organizations. The park is home to all types of activities. Cunningham Hall also includes a bowling alley in the lower level that is open during the Winter, Spring, and Fall seasons. During the winter months, the brook located behind the pool is filled with water that freezes over for public skating. The park is home to baseball fields, tennis court, and basketball court, where town sporting events occur. The park also has a playground for children of different ages. A Deep in cunningham park is the barn where employees work to maintain the beautiful park. Whether visiting Cunningham Park with an activity and mind, picnic, or simply a scenic walk, the park offers something for everyone.

The Blue Hills Reservation, located in Milton, is a great place for a hike, picnic, or ski trip during the winter months. Take a hike up to the castle structure known as the Blue hills observatory. Trailside Museum and Nature Center This museum is located in the Blue Hills. The museum offers programs to adults and children including summer camps. This is a place to learn about local wildlife and explore. The site offers a swimming area, multiple picnic sites, playground, snack bar, and fields used for local sporting events. Recreational activities include fishing, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, skiing, softball, and swimming. The pond is 24 acres and 42 feet deep. Historically, the Massachuseck Indians fished and hunted here until the Houghton family farmed the land. During the summer months, lifeguards are on duty at the swimming area.

Turners Pond The pond is located behind one of the major elementary schools, Glover Elementary. The pond welcomes fishers and people of all ages to stop by and feed the ducks. Teachers and students studying at Glover often collect samples of nature from the pond to analyze in the classroom. A cleared path surrounds the pond for visitors to explore.

Ulin Memorial Ice Skating Rink For free public skating from Thanksgiving through the winter months, stop here and enjoy skating or a hockey game. The rink includes skate rental, a full snack bar, and can be rented out for private parties. The rink is home to the Curry College Colonels and the Milton High School Wildcats.

East Milton Square The square is located on the east side of milton with easy access to Interstate 93. The square includes the Fruit Center Market place, shopping, salons, post office, library, a restaurant, and privately owned fast food restaurants, banks, coffee shops, fitness centers, medical offices, and much more.

Gift Garden Small gift shop located at the Milton Marketplace in East Milton that offers unique handmade gifts . Famous designer, Vera Bradley is also sold here. Prices are moderate to high, depending on the merchandise.

Tedeschi’s Local convenient store with two locations. One location in East Milton on Randolph Ave and one in West Milton on Houston Ave.

Milton Food Mart Local Convenient store located in West Milton on Thacher Street. Includes a deli and offers fresh fruit. Sandwiches are available at the Deli.

Mr. Chans Mr. Chans offers a dine in or dine out Chinese fast food menu. It offers a contemporary atmosphere with mid range prices. Public restroom facilities are available along with a friendly staff. Orders may be placed at the counter or over the phone. Delivery is not available. Mr. Chans is the towns only Chinese fast food restaurant. MHOP

Milton House of Pizza is located in east milton square and offers pizza and subs as well as appetizers and sides from chicken wings to onion rings. Prices are mid range and delivery is not available.

Abbey Park A new restaurant located in east milton square. The style is contemporary and the menu offers American cuisine including lunch as well as dinner. Prices are mid-high ranged. The restaurant offers a full bar as well. 88 Wharf A new restaurant located in the Wharf near lower mills of milton. The restaurant is found in the lower level of the new housing complex. 88 Wharf also includes social hour, brunch, dinner and a full bar.

Newcomb Farms Family Restaurant Newcombs is famous for its breakfast. It is located on Randolph ave. Aside from breakfast, the restaurant offers a lunch and dinner menu, only available Friday through Saturday. Prices are low-mid ranged.

Ichiro Sushi Sushi restaurant located in East Milton square offering a reasonably priced sushi menu. Dine in or dine out, the restaurant does not offer delivery services.

Motzarellas Pizzeria Motzarellas offers a full pizza menu as well as subs, appetizers, and sides. The pizzeria is available for delivery and has mid ranged prices. Brueggers Bagels

Brueggers Bagels, a well known food chain. is located in East Milton. Bruggers offers its famous bagels, sandwiches, salads, soups, and coffee.

Starbucks Startbucks coffee chain is also located in east milton. It offers the well known menu as well as free a lounge area and free wi-fi for its customers.

Drink

Two restaurants in Milton offer a full bar, Abey Park and 88 Wharf. There are no other bars in Milton. There are two main liquor stores located in east milton and west milton. A Wine Specialty store is also located in west milton.
