Understand
The Severn Valley Railway [1] is a steam heritage tourist line in England. It runs for 16 miles.
Get in
The Severn valley railway can be accessed from any of the stations on the railways route, although most visitors will start their trip at either end of the line.
The railway does not have direct interchanges with the rest of the UK rail network, although Kidderminster Town is only a short walk from Kidderminster (SVR) station.
By car
Bridgnorth station is on Hollybrush Road in Bridgnorth It is signposted from the A458 Birmingham - Stourbridge - Shrewsbury road, or the A442 Telford - Kidderminster road
The station provides a small car-park operated on a pay & display basis, and charged at(2012 price) 3.00 UK Pounds per day.
Kidderminster station is on Comberton Hill, in Kidderminster It is signposted from , M5 Junctions 3 and 6(NB only) as well as locally in Kidderminster, Standard UK Brown tourist navigation signs are used.
A small car-park is provided (pay & display) - Charged at (2012 price) 3.00 UK pounds per day, although the SVR website notes this can become become full at busy periods.

As a railway, the best method of travelling between locations is the railway itself, with most of the rail related attractions being located on or within waking distance of them.

- Kidderminster Town station - Although not an original , this station was based on GWR designs.
- The Engine House at Highley - This attraction houses an extensive part of the SVR's heritage collection, including a royal coach used by George V. An admission charge is payable, but waived for visitors with certain rover tickets for the rest of the SVR.
- Bridgnorth - An original station (Grade II listed building) , with an on platform pub!
The railway also operates a number of special events across the railway, as well as at The Engine House.
