Borsh is a village in the Albanian Riviera. It is known for the South Outdoor Festival, which has taken place in the Albanian Riviera every spring since 2017.

A festival is organized in the picturesque villages of the village of Borsh in the warm and colorful Albanian spring, South Outdoor Festival celebrates sports, culture, tradition, music, nature and food. The festival invites participants from all over the country and the whole of Europe to join, compete and have fun, spread the joy and experience the unique beauty of nature, food, culture, and tradition of the region.

By plane[edit]

The closest airport to reach the village of Borsh is either from Corfu Airport and then you can take a ferry, land in Saranda and get a car, taxi or bus to reach Borsh. If you land at the Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza in the capital, Tirana, you can get a taxi, bus or car to reach the village.

By bus[edit]

Buses and furgons usually arrive and depart at the local bus terminal.

  • From Tirana: The buses depart from the bus terminal near the Casa Italia shopping center, "Terminali i Autobuzave Ndërqytetase, Zona Veri-Jug".[1][2]

There you can take the bus from Tirana to Borsh and stop in the village where the festival is held that year. Beware of the parting hour of the buses. The ride takes around 5-6 hours and costs around 1000-1500 lek (May 2022). The bus operates daily from 06:30 to 19:30 and every 30 min.

  • From Saranda: The buses depart from the bus terminal near St. Jonianet. There you can take the bus from Saranda to Riviera and stop in the village where the festival is held that year. Beware of the parting hour of the buses.
  • From Vlora: The buses depart from the bus terminal near St. Boulevard Ismail Qemali.

By car[edit]

You can also rent a car to drive yourself (if your license is valid in Albania) or hire a taxi to reach the festival.

Borsh is very well known for it's olive orchards and it's olive oil production, and therefore it's highly recommended to enjoy this local delicacy

  • 1 Borsh Waterfalls Restaurant (From Borsh beach, you need to go by car towards the Borsh village situated higher up in the mountains.). Borsh Waterfalls is a Bar Restaurant and natural attraction, which gathers many locals daily to have a drink or food in a fantastic environment surrounded by waterfalls.

Go next[edit]

Borsh is situated at a fantastic position in South Albania and as such, it’s close to many great destinations. You can go to the left and visit Qeparo and Porto Palermo. Or, you can go to the right and visit the beautiful Bunec beach or Lukova beach. Not for away, you also have the city of Saranda and island of Ksamil.
