[edit]The page is linked to
“Q3606206”
, which is about the disambiguation pages by this name. Should be changed. –LPfi (talk) 16:15, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Done. It now links to the item Q111293265, which however lacks any interwiki link other than the English Wikivoyage one I just added. Vidimian (talk) 17:27, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
- The page banner statement is moved as well. Vidimian (talk) 17:33, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks! It seems I got the Wikidata link above wrong, I don't know what I did. –LPfi (talk) 06:07, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- It seems I added the pagebanner to a disambiguation page. My apologies, but thanks for fixing it. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 07:36, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- SHB2000: I don't think it was your fault to begin with; this page was already linked to that Wikidata item when you added the banner.
- LPfi: At first I thought Oscar Wilde was some kind of inside joke that I couldn't have a grasp of, but it seems you used Template:Q (I didn't know it existed), and left the "author" parameter blank, and therefore, I guess, it duplicated Oscar Wilde as the author found in the example in the template page. - I've always thought {{Q}} was a shortcut to linking Wikidata items, at least based on what I saw on Commons. Who knew it was a quote-related template? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 13:17, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- I've always found in-line interwiki links in the form of [[:d:Qxxx]] easy enough to use.
- And I'm not sure of the usefulness of Template:Q as it is. It seems it just slightly changes the aesthetics of Template:Quote which is in a much wider usage. Vidimian (talk) 13:32, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- I also don't see the usefulness of that template – it seems redundant when we have {{blockquote}}. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 13:43, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- So we have yet another template for quotes? We guys should be a really quote-loving bunch. Vidimian (talk) 16:04, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
{{Blockquote|whatever}}
just inserts
whatever
. It should not be used in articles. I assume Template:T should neither, there is no discussion or documentation on where it should be used. –LPfi (talk) 18:53, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
