Blood pressure affects 1 in 3 adults[edit]

The topic of Blood Pressure and travel is of enoromous interest to the 1 in 3 adult who have high blood pressure and are often under the misguided belief that flying, hot/cold climates and trave insurance are problematic. This page is intended to hep those with high blood pressure understand how travel is not restricted and to offer helpful advice for those looking for information about travel/holidays and blood pressure.

Travel topics should be concise and simple.[edit]

Travel topics should be concise and simple. Blood Pressure is one of the slippery slopes and is potentially ugly. The goals for this topic need to be articulated clearly, otherwise it should be deleted. - (WT-en) Huttite 16:00, 30 January 2009 (EST)

Generalise and / or Merge with Travel health[edit]

There should be separate articles about Medication and Medical equipment, as these will be common for tavelers whatever their condition. If we go by condition we will have hundreds of topics for the same thing. That is the wrong way to view the subject. Merge with Travel health or write about the precautions travelers need to take irresprctive of their condition. - (WT-en) Huttite 16:19, 30 January 2009 (EST)

I'd support that. Blood pressure considerations in general aren't travel-specific, and there's nearly nothing on this page that's uniquely relevant to the combination of blood pressure and travel. "Always remember to take enough medicines to last the whole holiday" is pretty generic. - (WT-en) Dguillaime 15:15, 18 February 2009 (EST)

Links to healthcare resources[edit]

I have reincluded the links to the sites I originally added for further information about blood pressure and travelling with high blood pressure. I don't think there would be great benefit in including all this detail on this page and believe that the links offer wikivoyage visitors opportunity to find out more if they so wish.

Since most of those links seem to go to one non-primary commercial site, it appears to me more like SEO trickery than useful content. Also, external links are generally discouraged here. - (WT-en) Dguillaime 15:15, 18 February 2009 (EST)
