Do we need this page? It seems to me that it should be merged with Chongqing. We don't have similar pages for comparable cities such as Beijing, Tianjin or Shanghai. STW932 (talk) 14:03, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The other cities have districts. We are talking about an area with a population of over 30 million. Would you merge the content of Dazu into the city or create district articles? --Traveler100 (talk) 14:07, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly Chongqing's size is such that we will (ultimately) need to create district articles. Dazu is in fact a formal district (Dazu District), so I would leave it as it is for the time being. STW932 (talk) 15:42, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That could be a good idea. I don't know Chongqing and you do, so I'd respect your feeling about this. I'll just point out that huge cities don't always get district articles on Wikivoyage, and some fairly small cities do get district articles: for example, Karachi has just one article, whereas Richmond and Arlington, Virginia are districted. This has to do with the distribution of points of interest throughout the cities. Saqib, who is very familiar with Karachi and has lived there, says that "Karachi is a huge city but unfortunately, there's really nothing of good interest to tourist except South Karachi district." By contrast, although Richmond and Arlington, Virginia are absolutely tiny compared to Karachi, the points of interest are more evenly distributed throughout town. Thank you for your helpful response. I think for the moment I would prefer to simply focus on getting as many attractions onto the main Chongqing page as possible, then maybe when things start to get a little crowded, I'll look more seriously at developing district articles (perhaps starting with the two existing ones of Dazu and Qijiang).
