Merge??

Høyanger is not a tourist destination, there is not much info to offer. Perhaps merge with Sognefjorden. --Erik den yngre (talk) 17:04, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

• Comment. As the village is small and without touristic interest, and considering the state of the article, I agree that it should be merged somewhere. The question is however where it should be merged. The only listing in the article is a sleep listing. Therefore, it might be a bad idea to merge it into the region article Sognefjorden. One solution would be to merge it into one of the existing city-level articles in the area. Balestrand looks like it is the closest. A more radical solution would be to turn Sognefjorden into a city-level article and merge all sub-Sognefjorden articles (30,000 people and 9 articles, out of which 7 are outlines) into the Sognefjorden article. Finally, another solution would be to create one city-level article covering all of Outer Sognefjord (In yellow on this map) and merge Høyanger there. Erik den yngre, I trust your local knowledge.   • Thanks for comment. Yes, outer Sognefjord is a possibilty (that is how locals think about it, inner and outer Sognefjord is 200 km apart), but there still no content for Gulen and Solund at the mouth of the fjord so perhaps merge with Sognefjord and leave a redirect? --Erik den yngre (talk) 21:13, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

In my opinion, it would do little harm if this was just turned into a redirect. Sure, we’d lose one sleep listing, but that’s basically it. Then we could redirect to the region. --Comment by Selfie City (talk about my contributions) 21:25, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

The sleep listing can be copied to Sognefjord. The entire region only has some 30,000 inhabitants, not more than a smallish town, so sleep listing can go into the main article. Erik den yngre (talk) 23:09, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
