Merge to Golan Heights or some other relevant place[edit]

Mountains and other geographical features should not have their own articles. Golan Heights seems like the best place for a merge, since looking at a map Mount Hermon is in that area, but if there is some other place we could merge with that made more sense, I would support it. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 02:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since the Golan Heights article has listings in it, given that only a couple of cities in that area have their own articles, it would probably make sense to add any useful information to the existing Mount Hermon listing in that article and turn this into a redirect. That said, parks do sometimes get their own articles. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:24, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ar2332: Sorry, but I reverted your redirects because I think a couple more days for discussion are needed before merging, perhaps input from a couple other users. You did the right thing, just a little too early. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 14:42, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds fair. Ar2332 (talk) 16:34, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If a mountain is a destination in its own right (as a national/regional park, ski resort etc.) it can definitely have its own article. ϒψιλον (talk) 17:01, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know there are park articles, but I've never seen a ski resort article. Cities, perhaps, but not individual resorts. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 17:18, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, ski resorts big enough to merit their own articles are practically cities or villages (sometimes named after the mountain). -- ϒψιλον (talk) 17:48, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see; well, if it's really a town or park in the case of this article, the article needs to clearly say what it is. That's my view. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 17:56, 5 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge. The wikilink can still make sense if the redirect points to a section in Golan Heights. ARR8 (talk | contribs) 18:12, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Moving it. 4 votes in favor, 1 a bit ambiguous, 0 against. Ar2332 (talk) 18:39, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ar2332: I'd agree that the move was now appropriate, and thanks for doing it! --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 19:50, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
