Article title[edit]

The capitalization looks strange to me. Would anyone object to changing it to South-Central China? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:48, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Cities" and "Other destinations"[edit]

Chongqing and Sichuan have been moved to Southwest China. Any additional listings to consider now from the remaining provinces? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:30, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Zhangjiajie comes to mind. —Granger (talk · contribs) 09:21, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Looking more closely, the mountains that Zhangjiajie is famous for are already listed under "Other destinations". Maybe Hengyang? The cities of Changde, Huaihua, and Yongzhou sound familiar to me too, but I don't know if that's because they're interesting destinations or just because I have students from those cities. —Granger (talk · contribs) 01:11, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Henan[edit]

Should Henan be moved here from North China? If so, should the region's name be changed to "Central China"? (By the way, the lack of capitalization on "Central" in "South-central China" still looks really weird to me, so if we're gonna keep it, I'd still like to change the name to "South-Central China".) Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:26, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Henan is considered northern, not southern, so if it's moved then the name should definitely be changed. I don't know enough about the province to say whether moving makes sense, though. —Granger (talk · contribs) 02:21, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Anhui doesn't seem like it would be considered southern, either, though, just central. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:34, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe the region should be renamed regardless, then. I don't know about Anhui—I did a quick search in Chinese and found one website saying that it's not southern or northern, it's just eastern, and another website saying that northerners consider it southern and southerners consider it northern, for whatever that's worth. —Granger (talk · contribs) 03:07, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That makes perfect sense to me. Sort of like New Yorkers consider Ohio Midwestern and Iowans consider Ohio Eastern. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:25, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I asked someone from Anhui today and she confirmed that it's neither northern nor southern. —Granger (talk · contribs) 14:06, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
