How and why is this at guide status?

[edit]

Is this supposed to say: There is not much more to say about this place? Or can/should I go ahead and demote to "usable"? Hobbitschuster (talk) 23:12, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It was promoted in November 2006 (Special:Diff/1374943/1374944) when the status criteria were significantly different than they are now. At the time it covered every hotel and restaurant in the town, but things have probably changed since then. If you feel it is no longer a guide then go ahead and demote it. -- Ryan (talk) 23:26, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
This is just a small town, so I do not think there are tens of POIs we've forgot to list. That said, if the article was up to date nine years ago very likely many things have closed, opened or moved.
By googling up the information in the article, this could actually make a nice OtBP in the Southern Hemisphere summer (ie. in about a year). ϒpsilon (talk) 12:26, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Primary topic?

[edit]

I'm inclined to ask, why is Stanley, FK, not clearly more famous Stanley? It's the capital of the Falkland Islands and all the other Stanleys seem to be about tiny, insignificant, minuscule towns. Should this be moved to plain-old Stanley? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 10:26, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
