Hi. My name is Mysie, I'm 36 years old, and I'm addicted to traveling! As a child my parents were constantly bouncing our family back and forth between Hawaii and Washington, never able to decide whose family they preferred to live near. I'm pretty sure my DNA was somehow infected with Wanderlust from all the packing, shuttles to airports, hungry escalators, bad food, and the endless hours spent on planes. Marrying into a family that loves to vacation out-of-state at least once a year probably didn't help things either. Now I'm hooked, a goner. I crave the smell of airports, the sounds of an airplane cabin mid-flight, the culture-shock felt when you step into an unfamiliar airport. Those are my triggers anyway. What I really crave are new experiences, learning about new cultures, seeking out the beauty of new vistas.
Travel
Last year my husband and I spent three weeks in Italy, an amazing but expensive trip that has wiped out our travel funds until now: next week we will drive the coast of California between San Francisco and Disneyland, with lots of stops along the way. As well as Italy, we have visited Jamaica, British Columbia Canada, and Amsterdam - although I'm not sure if the 12 hours we spent between Schiphol airport, a nearby hotel, and walking through a McDonald's drive-thru at 1 a.m. really counts as a "visit". In Hawaii I have lived on the Big Island, and visited Oahu and Kauai. In Washington I have lived Seattle and Port Orchard, visited countless spots along the I-5 corridor, and made quick jaunts to the Eastern Washington towns of Leavenworth and George. I've stayed in Portland, Oregon as well as Eugene and Bend. Across the U.S. I have traveled to Disneyland, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, the Ozarks, the Wisconsin Dells, various points in Illinois, Philadelphia, and Disneyworld.
Favorite Travel Experiences
Three amazing weeks traveling Italy by car: Venice to Florence to Lake Como to Ravenna to Siena to Rome. We went to as many churches and museums as time would allow, ate as much gelato as humanly possible, liked our rented Punto from Venice much more than our Fiat out of Florence, and developed an extreme dislike for Italian "fast food".

September 2009: Road trip from San Francisco to Monterey to San Simeon to Solvang to Disneyland.
