I removed your duplicated listings for Ecotopia in Sinop from other articles further up in the geographical hierarchy because it is standard practice site-wide to only use one listing for each event/establishment, in the city (or city district) in which it takes place. There are many reasons for this practice, including avoiding duplicated content, deterring spammers, keeping it very clear where content belongs, there is no limit to how high in the regions hierarchy the listing could be duplicated (e.g., Turkey, Europe, Earth), etc. If this event were one of the Karadenız's top attractions, it might warrant an in-text mention plus a link to Sinop#Do, but 1) it is not, and 2) it is a one-time event, so I don't think that would be appropriate. --(WT-en) Peter ^Talk 14:47, 14 June 2008 (EDT)

Hi, I appreciate the effort you've made in providing a travel resource. But we have a policy against linking to anything except "primary sources" like the website for a hotel being listed (see Project:External links). The idea is to try to ensure that Wikivoyage is useful as a stand-alone guide even when printed. When we link to other stuff, it tends to become a substitute for having stuff described directly here. I re-added it. I posted a comment on your talk page but you didnt respond. Now i think i should have done it here? There is no usefull info on the pages with train schedules. I dont see a decent wikistyle way to put this train info compact in wikivoyage. I understand the printed guideline, but to cut out info, leaving no information whatsoever, just because someone might print it, seems a bit farfetched. Also, people will be starting mobile applications more and more, so they could easily follow hyperlinks to pdfs with usefull information. -- (WT-en) Eiland 15:56, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

Please recheck the page Project:External links. The "primary source" for train timetables is always the train company itself, or it's designated advertising agency. No, you should aim to give useful info here, instead of linking to a secondary source. In this case I rather agree with you that the link would be useful, but per "Rule Kantianism," we need to follow policy even in cases where it might be useful to ignore it, in order to maintain the policy. Regardless of you philosophical inclinations, Wikivoyage is governed by consensus, and there are two consensuses relevant to this matter: 1) our policy on external links and 2) that we follow policy. Toptourist

Hey, I've just reverted your addition of toptourist to Copenhagen, I checked out their website previously and there are no mention of schedules, prices, departure points or anything of that sort on the website, it seems more like a vacation provider than a bus company, weekly departures or not, so I'd rather not have it listed. --(WT-en) Stefan (sertmann) ^talk 07:12, 23 December 2009 (EST)

Hi, well, you are wrong. Did you call the number? I just travelled with them from BiH to CPH and back for the price mentioned. And it was not a vacation. In these days not yet all information is on the web, but if you call the number they will give you. Wikivoyage is not just to link pages which are on the web but also to give information which is not on-line but good for travellers, or is it? The Bosnian refugee community is tight and doesn't need elaborate ajax driven on-line planning websites just to know a bus company, soooo very 20iest century, but it works. Well; its not very Danish' if thats what you maen. Did they tell you they stop in Salzburg? I find that hard to believe. The big bus just drives non-stop to Laktasi, just north of Banja Luka to Banja Luka, letting out passengers to transfer in mini-buses to several places in BiH. The main bus didn't continue to Sarajevo, but maybe that depends on the number of passengers they have from there. -- (WT-en) Eiland 11:11, 23 December 2009 (EST)

Hi! I have just seen that you added in most bigger German cities a link to a single bus company Salinea. I don't say that you are an employee of the company but the widespread linking does make me a bit uncomfortable. I have seen the other discussions you had about bus connections, so i wanted to discuss with you before i revert. Do you think, so many links are necessary?
