Hello, Daiquiridan! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for contributing Abita Springs and Mandeville. Good starts on these articles.

I see you have already found our article templates. A few of minor points with their use, though. Articles should use the full template, not just part of one like you have with Abita Springs, though I see you have worked up a full template on the discussion page. Was that an accident? Discussion pages are really for discussing an article, not creating a full duplicate version of the article. Also, listings of attractions (restaraunts, bars, etc.) should give some contact details like a street address and other information in the listing form. That way we can find the place you list. Though you can always add the information later if you don't know it right now.

I see you create links from Louisiana for Abita Springs and Mandeville. This is good practice, though when you are creating new articles, please bear in mind our naming conventions; we only need to disambiguate places by their state, by adding disambiguators such as (Louisiana), if we already have another article about a different place with the same name. What you have done is OK, as a simple page move can resolve things, and we have an alternate name reserved, if it is ever needed.

Finally, I notice you edited Louisiana you dropped some information about Mandeville that would be nice to keep. - (WT-en) Huttite 06:27, 20 January 2009 (EST) and 06:06, 20 January 2009 (EST)
