While your contributions are really welcome, I had to revert your contributions to Cairo article, since you removed the districts map (which should not be done unless a better map is uploaded), messed up the wikilinks (for example, [[Cairo/Downtown|Downtown Cairo]] works whereas simply [[Downtown Cairo]] doesn't because there is no such article or redirect), and badly disrupted the flow of the prose—I'd suggest you work your contributions into already existing prose rather than outright deleting and replacing them with yours. As for the edits to Egypt article, such detailed descriptions of cities such as Alexandria and Aswan should better go to those city articles themselves, as the country article is supposed to give an overview of whole country (short mentions of those cities are of course OK in the country article). And the edits to "talk" section of that article are rather verbose and irrelevant to a travel guide: Why should people reading this guide care about the fact that Egyptian Arabic is understood widely in Middle East (if they could speak Egyptian Arabic, they wouldn't need to read this section of the guide, and that's irrelevant for a guide to Egypt, anyway), and how many Egyptians really can speak, say, Spanish fluently and how likely is an average traveller will come across one? And Nubian, Barbar, Coptic, and Bedouine should be quick mentions at best, if you want to elaborate on these, that's better saved for region articles. (Nubian is spoken only in Upper Egypt, right?) And please don't whitewash anything: If the situation of corruption has not changed (and I highly doubt that after reading your long essay about economics of average Egyptian, most of which is better saved for somewhere other than a travel guide) since that sentence you removed (Officials in uniform, such as police officers, should not be tipped, even though a good few will ask you.—emphasis mine) added, do not remove it at all. Letting the travellers know this fact is good to avoid a misunderstanding if they happen to come across a corrupt officer, and removing it is a disservice to travellers.

In short, please keep editing, it is really great to have insider tips in Wikivoyage guides, but please keep in mind that this is a travel guide and its first and foremost purpose should be helping travellers during/planning their travels. – (WT-en) Vidimian 04:24, 4 July 2010 (EDT)
