User Editing Block[edit]

Hi there, sorry for interrupting your editing. We've made several attempts to contact you in the past (see the my talk link at the top of the page) but you haven't responded or altered your behaviour. This led us to think that possibly there isn't a real person making your edits, but rather an automated 'bot', which is prohibited. Could you please read your talk page and the linked policies. Your block will expire in ten minutes. We would welcome further contributions after your block expires if you make efforts to follow our policies- (WT-en) Huttite 15:25, 7 February 2009 (EST)

Welcome[edit]

Welcome to Wikivoyage. We have an introductory page for business owners--please take a minute to read it before going on with your edits. What's most important when adding your properties to the listings are: be fair and don't tout. Your recent additions on behalf of Luxury Resorts or the operators of their hotel's websites look very much like an advertisement. Wikivoyage strives to avoid being an "advertising brochure" for any business, city, or service--so {please edit|I have edited} your text to describe the establishment rather than trying to sell it to a reader. I would recommend to read Project:Don't tout article before your future edits--and we would happy to see you back editing here but also respecting our guidelines ;-) BTW, we would recommend you registering a login name at Wikivoyage too. because some Wikivoyage Administrators want to talk to you!

User Editing Ban[edit]

We've made several attempts to contact you in the past (see below) but you haven't responded or altered your behaviour. This led us to think that possibly there isn't a real person making your edits, but rather an automated 'bot', which is prohibited. Could you please read our guidelines and the linked policies on this page. We are about impose a User Editing Ban that will block your anonymous editng. Your ban will expire in a few hours or if you log in and create an account. We would welcome further contributions after your ban expires and then make efforts to follow our policies. - (WT-en) Huttite 15:25, 7 February 2009 (EST)

Earlier Messages[edit]

Please knock it off with the touting hotel edits and the commission links. -- (WT-en) OldPine 14:48, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

Hi, and welcome to Wikivoyage. If you were to add listings more like this one you added back in May and less like this one, your edits would be more likely to stay untouched. (WT-en) LtPowers 14:52, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

So what are you doing, just copying and pasting from the Hyatt web site? (WT-en) LtPowers 20:34, 12 September 2008 (EDT)

Edits like this, where you repeatedly use the word "our", make it appear that you are touting for Hyatt. Please don't do this. (WT-en) LtPowers 14:57, 15 September 2008 (EDT)

Since you aren't willing to abide by (or probably even read) our policies, I'm planning revert all your edits. If you feel like reforming your practices here, let me know, otherwise I'll just keep reverting. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 17:13, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
I'd really rather discuss your edits with you than simply revert them. But if not, I'm going to keep reverting all your work. Of course, I might be wasting my breath if you are in fact just running a script and will never read this. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 16:26, 4 February 2009 (EST)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
