Thank You[edit]

We just realized what the 'my talk' section was for - and are taking all of the comments into account. Regarding the formatting of the hotel listings, we are taking into account what is already on the page. Some cities (Sydney in particular) have all hotel names as links already.

A lot of times an improperly formatted listing will sneak through - eventually someone will come along and clean it up. Since it sounds like you will likely be adding a lot of hotel information it would be best if the listings you add follow the style in Project:Accommodation listings (and given in examples below on this page) as it makes it less likely that other editors will leave comments on this page reminding you about listing formats :) Also, while you definitely don't have to do so, if you see any listings that are improperly formatted you are both welcome and encouraged to fix them. Thanks again for contributing! -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:12, 3 August 2006 (EDT)

Article naming[edit]

Hello - thank you for your contributions, but please see Project:Article naming conventions for guidelines on how articles should be named. Normally we simply name an article after the city, such as Phoenix. If there is more than one city with that name then we add a disambiguator in parentheses, such as Lafayette (California). Also, you may want to consider creating an account to make it easier to communicate with you. Thanks again for contributing! -- (WT-en) Ryan 13:02, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

You may also want to look at Project:Accommodation listings for guidelines as to how hotel listings are normally formatted. It's best not to include the hotel name as a hyperlink, but instead write the listing as:

'''Hotel Name''', Address, Phone, [http://website.com].

Just to reiterate, the naming convention is Oxnard, not Oxnard california. -- (WT-en) Ryan 14:12, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

You seem to be ignoring these messages, but I'll try again: We do not include the state in the name when we create an article for a city unless it's necessary to distinguish one city from another. Project:Article naming conventions explains what we do then. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 17:04, 2 August 2006 (EDT)

  • Would you please pay attention. This is how you add a hotel listing -

*'''Westin Cincinnati''', 21 E. 5th Street, Phone: ''+1 513'' 621-7700, (Fax: ''+1 513'' 852-5670), [http://www.westin.com]. Rooms: $255 - $300.

which will look like this

  • Westin Cincinnati, 21 E. 5th Street, Phone: +1 513 621-7700, (Fax: +1 513 852-5670), [1]. Rooms: $255 - $300.

Please be careful[edit]

Hello - we appreciate the information you are adding, but please be sure you understand what you are doing. Macquarie Island is a pristine Antarctic island - it has no hotels, much less a luxury resort. Edits like this one make it more difficult to trust that you are adding accurate information and more likely that someone will revert your edits in the future. We would very much like to work with you to get your company's hotels listed here, but we need you to work within our policies and guidelines. -- (WT-en) Ryan 17:20, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
