Hi. We're all aware that only Israel recognizes its annexation of the part of the Golan Heights it controls, but that's the most important thing for the traveler to know because s/he therefore needs an Israeli visa, not a Syrian one, to visit the Israeli-controlled part of the Golan. In articles about the Golan, its disputed status is correctly noted, so we have that covered, too. This website expressly recognizes all well-established de facto conditions, whether in Crimea, Kashmir or the Golan, for the benefit of travelers. Please also read Wikivoyage:Be fair#Political disputes. Thanks a lot, and do understand that if the Israeli-controlled part of the Golan is ever restored to Syrian rule, this site will recognize that, too, and that our recognition of de facto conditions doesn't mean we take a view on whether those conditions are good or bad, merely that they exist.
