Hello!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. Please read through our don't tout and Welcome, business owners policy pages. I had to remove the description of the hotel you added to the Salvador article and looks like I will have to do it once more on the other hotel you added. --ϒpsilon (talk) 19:51, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It also appears that you are probably a paid marketer for specific hotel chains. If that's the case, per don't tout, you may not add any new listings at all. So if you aren't working as a marketer for hotel chains, you need to explain your motivations very quickly, before we draw the logical conclusion and delete all your listings. I'm not a paid marketer, please check that I also updated the listings for another hostel chains in Buenos Aires, for example. I've been travelling for a while and I've made myself a long list of hostels and business i recommend, and I'm adding them one by one. I've started with this chain because I have my listings in order, but at the end of it I have 10 or so hostels that do not belong to this chain. Do you want me to start updating the information for those hostels first and then continue with my list? I'm not adding any description or subjective opinion about thm; I just think, for my experience, they belong in this website because they are well recognized by travellers. —The preceding comment was added by Arielb (talkcontribs)
Your clarification is much appreciated. Actually, you should indeed give your impressions of the places where you stayed, though without using first-person pronouns or language or language that reads as if it were promotional. Listings really should have descriptions, so that a visitor can have a good idea of what the rooms are like, what kinds of amenities are offered, etc. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:51, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not over-describe the locations of hotels. This is not a description of a hostel, as far as this site is concerned:
Por do Sol Buzios is located in the downtown, close from the best restaurants, bars, shops and nightclubs of the famous “Rua das Pedras” and a few minutes from the beach
"Downtown" is OK as a single word in the "directions" tab. The "best" restaurants, etc. are not in the hostel, and therefore irrelevant, and "a few minutes" is not specific either as to time or means of transportation. What should be in an accommodation listing is a description of the hostel itself - the rooms, the building, the types of amenities (though be specific). Your edits are looking touty. Please read Wikivoyage:Don't tout if you haven't already, and be careful to follow the "Good" example and avoid any elements of the "Bad" example. By the way, this listing in the same article is much better, though not perfect:
Serena Buzios is located 100 meters from the Geriba beach. It features a deck and lit outdoor pool, pool bar service, and children’s play area supervised by the staff. The rooms have free WI-FI, king-sized beds, cable TV, Mini bar and a safe deposit box.
The listing describes the actual distance from the beach and is very specific about the amenities available. The problems are small. I'd put "100 meters from Geriba beach" in the "directions" tab. Here's my edited version:
Features a deck and lit outdoor pool, pool bar service, and children’s play area supervised by the staff. The rooms have free Wi-Fi, king-sized beds, cable TV, mini bar and a safe deposit box.
Very similar. Try to use this type of style in your entries, and remember to leave the name of the town out of the address. See Wikivoyage:Listings for more guidance. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:26, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
