Cambridge Bay Co-op store location

[edit]

Can you help me confirm that the co-op store should be across from the school on Omingmak St, and not what's being marked on the map (on Mitik St)? OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:17, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

You are correct that location is the KIA building, known as the Fred R. Elias Centre. It's also missing the C-Store (Kalgens) and the Game Hall, which isn't a game hall but another convenience store. It looks like there should be another couple of places to eat. I'll fix a couple of things. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 15:30, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have fixed the co-op store location. I will leave the other places in your hand. OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:00, 11 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I added a couple. Question. Are services added? I was thinking of things like post office, bank, health centre and so on. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 03:40, 12 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CambridgeBayWeather Not sure what happened but I didn't get a ping notification of your reply. I think it's beneficial to have a brief description of what services the health centre can provide (under "Stay safe" section). But post office and bank are considered to be boring entries and nothing unique about them. OhanaUnitedTalk page 19:10, 15 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
In a small, remote town, it might be significant to list the post office and bank and state what services they provide, if there's any question about that. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:59, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
OhanaUnited. The reason I asked is that where those places are is a common question in a small community. Several hundred people off a cruise ship will ask the oddest questions, and do the oddest things. We are fairly unique in having a bank and a stand-alone post office. Most communities have the post office as part of another operation such as the coop store. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 15:25, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Right, understood. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:18, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
