Folks who add external links are sometimes surprised when they are removed. If you are one of the surprised ones, please check out Project:External links which discusses what little we link to. 72.73.127.244[edit]

You speedy-deleted 10 pages created by Special:Contributions/72.73.127.244 yesterday, I've just nominated another 3. Maybe you want to block the IP for a bit. ~ 58.8.14.82 12:20, 24 January 2008 (EST)

Block snafu[edit]

Yeah, the anon blocks today had your name on them, but the blocked IP was really a later one of Peter's. Didn't look to me like any admin was really at fault. Seemed like a true glitch to me. (WT-en) OldPine 18:59, 21 February 2008 (EST)

I'm definitely feeling sheepish about reverting every change from that omni-ip yesterday, though... --(WT-en) Peter Talk 19:14, 21 February 2008 (EST)
Geez, I glanced at those and thought you were on to some new kind of subtle vandalism. Didn't even occur to me later that the edits were involved in the problem. Oh well, that's why the place runs on the backs of you younger guys. Oh and the hamsters powering the servers of course ;) -(WT-en) OldPine 19:40, 21 February 2008 (EST)
When I saw some obvious vandalism from that IP, I was really tempted to do the same. I was totally confused about why the heck someone would put stuff like "foo was here" in some articles, added great stuff to other articles, and in one instance vandalized and then cleaned up an article. GAH. -- (WT-en) Colin 21:08, 21 February 2008 (EST)
Yeah, I was suspicious as to why one individual was making high-volume edits about random towns across the entire world, and figured that the useful edits were suspect. Especially after confirming that one edit removing a "closed" listing, was a flat-out lie. I definitely hadn't considered that 172 was somehow... everyone! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 21:48, 21 February 2008 (EST)

(test -- checking that anon edits maybe still work).

Damnascus[edit]

I'm really glad to see you tackle that nonsense. I was aware of how bad things were getting, but the idea of trying to fix it made my head hurt for some reason. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 00:17, 21 March 2008 (EDT)

Correction corrections[edit]

Looks like my attempts to help made extra work yesterday. Sorry about that! And thanks again for all you do here. (WT-en) OldPine 07:02, 10 June 2008 (EDT)

Trainschedule to and from Vienna[edit]

Hi Colin, I sort of understand whats your argumentation of removing the links to the summary of train connection to Western and Eastern Europe from Vienna [1], but I think its taking the goal of making a printed guide one step too far. For me, the sheet with connections really made sense, and I used it a lot, but on the other hand, such detailed info doesnt fit in WT pages. To remove it because it wont go into the printed edition, and thereby refraining online users from this practical resource is, well, i would like to get those resources from a site such as WT. -- (WT-en) Eiland 18:19, 19 June 2008 (EDT)

Medical Tourism in Thailand[edit]

Hi there! ... why have you posted a deletion for the article Medical Tourism in Thailand? can i know the reason? --(WT-en) Borndistinction 03:25, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

See Project:Votes for deletion. -- (WT-en) Colin 15:50, 16 July 2008 (EDT)

Hello! Could you renew the historic statistic graphs? And which method you use to obtain source data for it? -- (WT-en) Sergey kudryavtsev 06:44, 30 July 2008 (EDT)

Florida Learn[edit]

Thank you for removing that. I've been telling the contributer of that wikipedia-copy-and-paste that it does not belong here. Thank you, thank you.Hopefully this build consensus for my case.(WT-en) Jtesla16 11:52, 7 September 2008 (EDT)

I'm not following that, but I wanted to remind all parties that Wikipedia has a license incompatible with our own, and that it is a legal violation to use Wikipedia text here. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 13:02, 7 September 2008 (EDT)

e-mail[edit]

I'm slightly wary of giving out my e-mail address; what do you need it for? (WT-en) LtPowers 22:06, 16 September 2008 (EDT)

Pages reverted[edit]

Hi Cjensen, I saw that you reverted some pages that we had edited after we added a tour listing for Scavenger Hunt Anywhere to some locations. I read over the submission guidelines, especially the part about external links, but I'm not seeing where we were in error. Can you please help me understand your reasoning so we don't cross the line again. Thanks! Andrew :)

Hard though it may be to understand, we actually do not encourage companies which are not in the travel-related business to add links to every article in Canada. I can cite the specific policies, but since this should be common sense, I'll let you work that out yourself. -- (WT-en) Colin 20:40, 21 October 2008 (EDT)

Daytona Beach, Harbour Beach Resort[edit]

Hello Colin, I am having an issue with another contributor which I need an Admin to weigh in on. I added a hotel listing for Harbour Beach Resort in Daytona Beach a while back. I have an intimate knowledge of Harbour Beach Resort, as I used to work there a few years ago. The property is a condo-hotel with 159 units - the units are owned by individuals and rented out as hotel rooms when the owners are not around. I added the official website, "harbourbeachresortonline.com". Westgate Resorts (a large timeshare company) bought 24 of the condo units there and operates their timeshare business there. Westgate does not own the building - only their 24 units. The building is owned by the Condominium Association - all the owners together. User Open321, who I assume is a Westgate employee, has been coming into Daytona Beach and basically "taking over" the listing for Harbour Beach Resort. He keeps changing the name and changing the website over to one that Westgate operates. I have been reverting the edits. The user tried to tell me that Westgate represents the property. After I demonstrated that I knew the building very well, the user instead has requested a second listing in Daytona Beach. I do not believe that would be an allowed solution, since each condo owner could ask for an individual listing as well. I decided not to act further until an admin looks over the issue. Please see Open321's talk page. (WT-en) gamweb 04:34, 23 October 2008 (EDT)

You should delete/ban[edit]

Delete/ban the person/article labelled "money" that was just createed. It's spam ( I think ) and innapropriate. (WT-en) Edmontonenthusiast 20:35, 23 October 2008 (EDT)Edmontonenthusiast
