Hello, Dukeboston! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.

If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage. Blocked[edit]

This travel guide is no free advertising space. You failed to read and comply with the above. Ibaman (talk) 21:25, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Colombia / Get In The site currently states that there is a ferry service from Panama City to Cartagena. This is not true and never has been. There was approx 6 years ago a trial ferry service from Colon to Cartagena. The trial proved to be unviable and the service did not commence operations. Yet it is still referred to on the site. With a more info link. My last edit corrected this by stating that there are sailboats working this route. In fact the have been for 20 years. I also edited the more info link to a current and relevant website offering the service. How can it be possible for the ferry express link to be acceptable though not the avemariasailing. Seems hypocritical.Dukeboston (talk) 21:33, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • You didn't read policy. The old link is really non-functional and has been removed. A MAJOR faux-pas in this travel guide is sneaky insertion of commercial links in the main text. A worse one is substituting your link for a competitor's. Failing to communicate in one's own talk page is also not well regarded. Please read policy and insert one listing, only one, minding your tone, on the article's page(s) correspondent to the port(s) where your business is physically located. I will unblock you now. Colombia/Get In/By Boat[edit]

Actually what you have stated is not correct. At the time I edited the link www.ferryexpress.com was live and active. In the interest of better understanding please explain how this is acceptable though the avemariasailing.com is not. Particularly given that the ferry express service does not exist as it was stated. Dukeboston (talk) 23:33, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

please... read... the links. I opened ferryexpress and saw the link for sale. Non-existent options must not be listed. Please add listings to your business, per WV:Welcome, business owners. Ibaman (talk) 23:38, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ibaman,

Second block[edit]

The page you created has been deleted because Wikivoyage is not free ad space. Your current block is two weeks, after which period you're welcome to edit here again. But I should warn you that if you tout again, your third block will be permanent and all your business interests will be blacklisted.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 21:41, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WV:Don't tout, WV:Tour, and WV:WIAA should help. If you have specific questions, after reading those, let me know. By the way, you can comment on this page. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 22:17, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
