Welcome[edit]

Hello, Egyptian Globetrotter! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Thanks for your edits, but I would ask that you explain the purpose of some of them. For example, you removed the population from the Vienna article and have changed a number of government types without explaining why. Could you please use the "Summary" line to provide a brief explanation when you make such a change, or at least comment on this page (see Wikivoyage:Using talk pages) so that we know what your goal is? Thanks! -- Ryan • (talk) • 05:37, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'd slow down for a minute, and try and read some of the policies and manual of style. Some of your syntactic edits may not stick, if not in line with the existing style guidelines. --Inas (talk) 11:00, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to reiterate my comment above - you've made a number of good edits, but also a number of highly questionable edits. Removing the page banners from Austria and Vienna is not constructive. Please begin using the edit summary box to explain what you're trying to do, otherwise many of your edits will likely be reverted. -- Ryan • (talk) • 01:20, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you deleting standard subheadings like "See," as you did in the Cuba guide? It would be more constructive to add content to it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:50, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you downsizing all those photos, etc., without explanation, and why have you never once posted anything on this talk page, nor (as far as I can remember) any edit summary? Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:28, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Again, please start using the edit "Summary" line to explain why you are making some of the edits that you have made. While you may mean well, when other edits see maps changed, images downsized, etc and cannot understand why that is being done it makes it highly likely that your edits will simply be reverted. -- Ryan • (talk) • 22:28, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Egyptian Globetrotter, please cease your questionable and counter-productive edits, including removing coding from templates and important parts of articles. You have made many constructive edits, but need to read Wikivoyage:Welcome, newcomers and the Manual of Style very carefully in order to understand how things work here.

If you continue to make disruptive edits, you will be blocked for a short period of time, following from no less than 5 previous warnings. Please ask here if you have any questions. JamesA >talk 13:43, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've blocked you for 20 minutes just to try and get your attention. Please respond to the comments and questions asked above. --Peter Talk 06:14, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Water area[edit]

Globetrotter, we don't care how much water area is within a country's jurisdiction. I don't know; maybe we should, for the purposes of navigation. But this is something you should discuss, rather than just changing it without discussion. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:25, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see that Ikan has already covered with you that water area is not a required fact for Wikivoyage.
Also another point regarding your edit to the Malaysia page under the currency section in the quickbar. MYR is the currency code for Malaysia (just as AUD is for Australia and USD is for USA). RM is the symbol used for Malaysian currency, just as you see $. As an example for 20 dollars in Australia it is written as $20, not AUD20. Hope that helps clarifies things.
