Hello, Eneniflo! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.

Is there any reason why you want to erase the mention of Igbo in the heart of Igbo country? Please explain. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:09, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue edit warring, we'll have to block your editing privileges. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:06, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ikan Kekek: This article might explain.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 08:41, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. I'll revert my edit. But I wish Eneniflo had simply explained the edit instead of ignoring my edit summaries and edit warring. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:17, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I hear you.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 09:41, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What is the most appropriate way to make a correction?[edit]

Hi wikivoyagers, Sorry if my correction on the languages spoken in Port Harcourt city violated your policies. I must confess that I bumped into this site by mistake, and because I live in Port Harcourt, I felt the information given could mislead a visitor. I was born and bred in Port Harcourt, and neither my friends, family or myself speak Igbo language. I was shocked to see this on your page. There was no intention to over emphasis the topic or promote the place where I live. Kindly direct me on how a new member can make corrections, as I was lost on what to do within my first 20 minutes. Special apologies to members like Kekek if you felt spited, I had no such intentions. I am still learning to improve my skills on this site. Thanks. Eneniflo (talk) 13:43, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply. If you have questions, you can always direct them to the Arrivals lounge or the Travellers' pub. I would also recommend working on creating new content and expanding content from your local knowledge. If you need any help (since there is quite a lot of formatting to learn at Wikivoyage), feel free to ask any of us.
The links given to you at the top of this page should help greatly in explaining how Wikivoyage works. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 15:08, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Eneniflo, thanks for asking about this and for correcting the article. Your edit has been reinstated. If you have the chance, please continue to update and expand the Port Harcourt article with useful information for people traveling to Port Harcourt!
To avoid this kind of misunderstanding in the future, it's helpful to give a more detailed explanation of your edit in the edit summary. If someone undoes your edit, it's a good idea to start a discussion on the talk page (for instance Talk:Port Harcourt) explaining the situation. —Granger (talk · contribs) 17:02, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Eneniflo, no offense felt here. It just seemed like an odd edit to me because I of course know much less about your city than you do and couldn't figure out why your true information was true. And no harm done.
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:10, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks all[edit]

Thanks to you guys. I will do my best to support the development of content for Port Harcourt or any other cities in Nigeria. Mx Granger and SelfieCity, thanks a lot for your support. Best wishes. Eneniflo (talk) 18:03, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A short info on Port Harcourt to Ikan Kekek[edit]

Thanks Ikan Kekek for your understanding. The information I gave is true to the extent that I wake up in the morning and move within Port Harcourt city to carry out my daily routine. It should be understood first and foremost that Port Harcourt city "proper" spans from Isaac Boro park through Old GRA to Gborikiri, including all of old Port Harcourt township. Other areas that fall within the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area are Ikwere Road, Doibu, Gbum nu Bali (popularly called Ogbunabali) through Eastern -by - Pass, some parts of Aba road and Abuloma. Some communities that share boundaries with the city, but not exactly within the City's local government Area are Aba Road leading to Rumuola, Rumuomasi, First and second Arttilery through Woji, Rumuodara, Rumuokwurusi, Oil Mill linking Elelanwo, Eleme junction and Oyibo). These places mentioned occupy a very small land space, sometimes a distance of one kilometer or less. In otherwards, Port Harcourt is a small city. Being a small city makes it's easy for me to go round Port Harcourt two to three times a day, however one must observe the hour and weather carefully so as to avoid the craziest traffics ever, which builds up due to high business activities with inadequate road infrastructure to meet vehicler activities. Once again like i said earlier, i live within the areas listed as Port Harcourt City, and the language spoken as I move around in cabs, markets places, shops, hair dressing saloons, schools, offices, small business outfits, religious places, and even buying items from hawkers are English or pidgin English languages.I also had my basic and high school educations in Port Harcourt. So this is the extent to which i know my information is true. But please do further research on what i know. Best wishes. Eneniflo (talk) 11:17, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added the picture at the beginning of the article showing the pleasure park. Would that be within the city's limits as you define them? --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 13:32, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In reality the area where the pleasure park is situated is out of Port Harcourt City Local government Area. The Pleasure Park is located along Aba road, in Obio Akpor Local government Area of Rivers state. However, visitors still assume they are within Port Harcourt city local government Area because that area is not far from the area officially known as Port Harcourt. Also, because Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers state, logically one can say they are in "Port Harcourt. Eneniflo (talk) 21:37, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the reply! I let Ikan Kekek know about your initial post in this discussion. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 21:50, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm good with everything. You know your city. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:53, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK,thanks and good night. Eneniflo (talk) 22:12, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
