Hello, Grettak44! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Just a small note, we don't tend to use smilies in our travel guide. As friendly as they look, they're not terribly professional :P

Thanks a lot for your contributions to Tasmania-related articles, which have been looking a bit unloved lately. Keep it up! --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 11:55, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

Hello, Grettak44, and indeed welcome and thank you for adding content!

A quick remark about external links: Please have a look at this site's external links guidelines when you have a spare moment. Briefly, in listings, such as those for restaurants, only primary links (that is, links to the restaurant's own website) are used on Wikivoyage. Competing guides and review sites like Tripadvisor are never linked here.

I'd welcome any questions you might have about anything. Meanwhile, please continue editing, as anything can be further edited later, but what's most important is to have more useful content.

All the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:51, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the info re external links. I'm new to this wiki editing so any extra tips and tricks are appreciated. Thanks :) —The preceding comment was added by Grettak44 (talkcontribs)

Sure thing. One other small thing is that it's customary on Wikis to "sign" posts on talk pages (only) by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end of each post. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:08, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
