Rental agency listings not allowed here so please stop adding listing to Lake District National Park article. Please read Wikivoyage:Sleep#Rental_listings. --Saqib (talk) 11:15, 1 August 2013 (UTC) I have read it and yet i find it strange that Heart of the Lakes is allowed to be represented. They are equally a rental agency.[reply]

If you see other posts in violation of our policies, plunge forward and delete them, specifying why in your edit summary.
In the meantime, I wish to inform you that your new listing in Ambleside has been deleted for touting. Based on your posting history so far, it appears that you may be doing publicity for sleeping accommodations you own or are employed by. This is prohibited on Wikivoyage. If you are not in fact a publicist, employee, or owner of sleeping accommodations, at a minimum, you must avoid all wordings that smack of advertising or publicity. Apparently, there is an exception for owners of individual properties, but the rest of my remarks hold, per the don't tout policy language. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:56, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So does this mean the listing in Ambleside was indeed allowed? Also no one has explained why Heart of the Lakes (a rental agency) are listed on the Lake District page. Your thoughts on this are appreciatedMatt Lukeson (talk) 07:39, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No. Touty listings are never allowed. Please read don't tout and welcome, business owners. I didn't read the listing for the rental agency, so I can't comment on it specifically. However, rental agencies can be listed only in very restricted circumstances and require a consensus on the talk page of the article in question. Read Apt for specifics. I know all of this seems very cumbersome, probably, but this site is meant to provide good information for travelers, rather than maximum convenience for advertisers.
