Hello, Mrmuncy! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thank you for your great contributions to Sandbach!! The contributions you've made are great and please don't take this negatively, but it would be really great if you could put restaurant, hotel, & bar/pub listing in a template so that addresses and other information about them can be easily added. Adding a template is simple: when on the editing page, look at the bottom of the page and you'll see "Attractions", "Activities", "Shops" and so forth with blue text to the right. Click on the blue text next to these options and a template will be added into the edit box. Clicking next to "Restaurants", you'll get this:

* <eat name="" alt="" address="" directions="" phone="" email="" fax="" url="" hours="" price=""></eat>

With this template, you can simply add the appropriate information inside the parentheses. "Alt" is for the name in non-Latin alphabets (if applicable), "url" is for a business' website, and you can put a 1-3 sentence description of a business after the closing chevron (greater-than symbol) and before the opening chevron (less-than symbol). This may sound complex, so let me give an example:

  • <eat name="Caffe Nero" alt="" address="1 Hampstead High St, NW3 1UN" directions="tube: Hampstead" phone="+44 20 7431 5958" url="http://www.caffenero.com" hours="M-F 07:30-18:30, Sa 07:30-19:00, Su 08:00-19:00 " price="" lat="" long="" email="info@caffenero.com" fax="">Modern coffee shop just around the corner from Hampstead tube station. Serves decent coffee with cakes and savoury snacks at slightly lower prices than elsewhere in Hampstead Village. Part of a large chain.</eat>

Is displayed as:

  • <eat name="Caffe Nero" alt="" address="1 Hampstead High St, NW3 1UN" directions="tube: Hampstead" phone="+44 20 7431 5958" url="http://www.caffenero.com" hours="M-F 07:30-18:30, Sa 07:30-19:00, Su 08:00-19:00 " price="" lat="" long="" email="info@caffenero.com" fax="">Modern coffee shop just around the corner from Hampstead tube station. Serves decent coffee with cakes and savoury snacks at slightly lower prices than elsewhere in Hampstead Village. Part of a large chain.</eat>

There's no need to fill in every field (in fact, "alt", "fax", & "email are almost always left blank/omitted), but the more that's inserted, the better. By the way, the above example is from the London/Hampstead page, which is the only "Star" page (the highest quality ranking possible for a page) in England and a great page to look at for an idea of what the Eat/Drink/Sleep sections should look like. If you have any questions, just leave a message below or on my talk page. And again, welcome to Wikivoyage and thanks for your contributions! AHeneen (talk) 05:27, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
