Hello, Oakalleyplantation! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. In particular, please have a look at tone and marketing policy.

In general, WV policy is to do guides for destinations and not for attractions. I am not sure where your work fits in, but some pages similar to what you are creating have been deleted in the past. See Wikivoyage:Votes_for_deletion/December_2011#Shanxi_merchant_family_compounds for one example. On the other hand, you might be able to turn your work into an itinerary which fits within policy. An example of that approach is Touring Shaker country. Pashley (talk) 17:25, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Have a look at Wikivoyage:External_links#External_link_format & the rest of that page. Pashley (talk) 18:50, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you change a Topic name?[edit]

Our topic name should be modified to meet WV guidelines.

Is this possible, or do I need to recreate a whole new page?

Thanks! You guys are GREAT! —The preceding comment was added by Oakalleyplantation (talkcontribs)

A page name can be changed by any user. At the top of the page, between the star & search box is a down arrow. Just click on "Move". A page will display where you can choose the new page name and give a reason. Hopefully I understand what you want to do...does this answer your question? Thank you. Even though I seem to have full editing capability on the page, there is no down arrow between the star and the search box. If I click Edit, I seem to be able to edit anything except the title of the page. Any other ideas? —The preceding comment was added by User:Oakalleyplantation (talkcontribs)

Try again. I think the problem is that the ability to move a page is only given to Autoconfirmed users (status is automatically given after 4 days). Your attempt may have been just a few minutes before your account gained "autoconfirmed status" (you created your account at 9:40 CST Feb 11th and wrote the above comment at 9:32 CST Feb 15th). Hopefully this solves your issue and sorry for any confusion. If you still can't accomplish what you want to do, just reply with the page you want moved and the new name for it and I could do it for you. AHeneen (talk) 03:55, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, you were correct!
