Hello, Quinncom! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Thanks for your contributions to the Meditation article. Note that instead of linking to Google Maps, we encode GPS information by inputting the latitude and longitude of the location. Keep up the good work! Gizza (roam) 21:24, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your question. Traditionally, we have one external link per bullet point (listing or destination) though there may be exceptions. That link is usually the main website for the thing you're talking about, so in the Meditation article it would be the website for the sanctuary, monastery or so on. If the meditation center doesn't have its own website, we do allow other links that describe the place. The next option tends to be social media (their Facebook or Twitter page) but I imagine if the best link to get further information about the place is Google Maps we could add a link at that point. We also add a lot of direct information into the articles such as address and phone numbers. Generally, we are hesitant adding Google Maps, Tripadvisor and other review sites because to an extent they are rivals to us. Gizza (roam) 23:28, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
