Hello!

Welcome to Wikivoyage. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 16:00, 12 December 2006 (EST)

Nine-County Region[edit]

If you want to nominate the Nine-County Region for deletion. Please add {{vfd}} to the article page and then add the nomination to Project:Votes for deletion and explain the reasons why the page should be deleted. Thanks. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 18:23, 20 December 2006 (EST)

Indiana[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Indiana. More work on it is sorely needed. However I must disagree with your changing of the region organizational structure. To me Wabash valley and Michiana are poorly defined. The time zones give the most definitive boundaries. I don't check here very often but let me know what you think or if you have some kind of master plan in mind that we can work on. (WT-en) Nowimnothing 19:32, 21 December 2006 (EST)

  • I agree with you it is sort of shoddy. It's hard defining the areas, and I researched into any serious "offical" titles for the regions and there wasn't one. I'm pretty open minded with defining the areas. The easier and less the better. I'm expanding the region pages, and I figure if we can come up with a good idea for each 'section' then we can just cut and paste the information (get in/out/stay/see/buy/do etc) to that areas page(s). Thanks. Great work on Indy by the way. It seems most of the other states break down regions into North, South, Central, etc. unless there is a popular travel spot like Pennsylvania Dutch Country.

We can move this discussion over to Indiana and see what we can come up with. (WT-en) Nowimnothing 16:44, 22 December 2006 (EST)

Indianapolis[edit]

Sarah,

I had a question, rather a proposal about breaking Indianapolis down into districts. Would you please comment on Talk:Indianapolis#Talk? Thanks. -- (WT-en) Andrew H. (Sapphire) 16:31, 15 January 2007 (EST)

Splitting Indianapolis up into districts[edit]

Hey, I noticed this discussion about starting to split Indianapolis up into districts. I'm going to try and round up some people around here to help out so we can get the process started -- (WT-en) Tim (writeme!) 12:29, 12 August 2007 (EDT)

Welcome (back)[edit]

Hey Sarah, good to see you here. Would you like me to merge your old account contributions into this one? --Peter Talk 00:56, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

YES!! Peter I would :) How do we do that?? Thank you for asking! SarahStierch (talk) 00:58, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Consider it done. If you want to get a hold of your old user page, it's still around [1]. I just redirected it here for now. Hope you'll stick around! --Peter Talk 01:03, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Danke from Germany (literally...Hamburg, right now!) :) SarahStierch (talk) 01:04, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for all the great work you're doing. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:51, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Photo hunt[edit]

Hi. I love all the great editing you're doing, but the one thing I'm not sure about is all the deletions of red links to photos that didn't get moved to Commons. I noticed that you did replace some of the red-linked photos, but I'm wondering if we might be able to find more of them before deleting so many red links. I'll look through some and see whether I can find any.

Also, on another topic: We don't do "Reference" sections on Wikivoyage. Have a look at the page on external links.

All the best,

Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:06, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I'm only removing images if there isn't anything decent to replace them, and trust me, there are a lot of crappy photographs on Commons, often such bad quality if I was someone visiting such a place and saw such a poor quality image...I'd think other wise about visiting :) I assure you, I'm doing it when other things are severely lacking! SarahStierch (talk) 18:40, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I respect that, Sarah. I did find some photos I inserted in some of the articles you worked on, though. Do the photos I inserted in articles like Balatonfüred, Bako National Park and Bahkchisaray look OK to you? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:55, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've been a little presumptuous[edit]

Profile pages I saw that you just edited Indianapolis and then saw that you edited your userpage here. I decided to take the initiative at b:User:SarahStierch, commons:User:Missvain, n:User:SarahStierch, q:User:SarahStierch, s:User:SarahStierch, species:User:SarahStierch, v:User:SarahStierch, and wikt:User:SarahStierch. For what it's worth, you were also listed as a docent at Wikitravel for Indianapolis until a couple of months ago until I removed MissVain from the page. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:28, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Somehow, wikt is un-editable... —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:33, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate that. Thanks! I tend to forget all the places I've left my mark until I show up at them....thanks!! SarahStierch (talk) 05:35, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you I found out the hard way about Big Hat two days ago. What a shame. As you can see from the history, I was working hard on this a little while ago but tapered off. Thanks for picking up my slack! —Justin (koavf)TCM 06:59, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
