South America > Brazil > Southeast (Brazil) > Rio de Janeiro (state) > Valley Region (Rio de Janeiro)
The Valley Region is in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in the Southeast of Brazil. It is bordered by the Costa Verde and Grande Rio regions to the south, the Southern and Zona da Mata regions of Minas Gerais to the north, and the North Coast region of São Paulo to the west.
- Barra Mansa - the largest city in the region
- Fumaça - a small village on the outskirts of Resende. This small village hides some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) waterfalls in Rio.
- Visconde de Mauá
- Volta Redonda
The Valley Region is formed by the valley of the Paraíba River and a touristic region known as the Vale do Café (Coffee Valley).
