Esslingen am Neckar is a city in Stuttgart Region. The former free imperial city of Esslingen is nestled in the Neckar valley and surrounded by vineyards. A stroll through the winding, cobbled streets and charming pedestrian streets of the historic centre is recommended as shopping pleasure as well as a walk in the past.

Esslingen is one of only three German cities left to use electric buses with overhead wires (trolleybuses). The other two cities with that distinction are Eberswalde and Solingen in case you were curious.
