Motorway A2 between the Austrian border and Ljubljana passes next to the city. Jesenice is the first city on the Slovenian side after the Karawanks Tunnel.

By train

Jesenice is also on the railway between Villach and Ljubljana. It is the first railway stop on the Slovenian side.

The Jesenice Upper Sava Museum is made up of six components, three of which are in Jesenice:

  • 1 Bucellini–Ruard Manor (Ruardova graščina), Cesta Franceta Prešerna 45. Built in 1538 as one of the "ironworks castles"; residences of the tycoons of the iron mining and processing industry. The three other sites are the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana, the Liznjek Farm in Kranjska Gora and the Kajžnk House in Rateče.
