Regions

[edit]

The regions of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is a mess, I suggest we change it to follow the regions in WT German

  • Western Mecklenburg
  • Central Mecklenburg
  • Mecklenburg Lake District
  • Mecklenburgische Schweiz
  • Western Pomerania

Claus, i think we can merge Mecklenburg Lake District and Mecklenburgische Schweiz into one district as its very sparsely populated. I think the name Lake District (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) should do the job. (WT-en) jan 09:46, 11 August 2010 (EDT)

redirect

[edit]

is there a redirect from the German name Mecklenburg Vorpommern ? if not, there should be, as people har4dly ever guess the translated name correctly...141.30.210.129 23:45, 14 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given that that's a red link, there is no such redirect. So please plunge forward and create one. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:50, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
I do not know how that is done.141.30.210.129 16:23, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
You start a new page (type in the precise name into "Search" and you will be prompted to do so if no such page exists) and all that needs to be in that page is a redirect (inserted by the blue arrow icon in the "Advanced" menu). By the way, would be brilliant if you registered and logged in with your user account, this would make communicating with you much easier. PrinceGloria (talk) 19:04, 15 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regions 2

[edit]

First of all, I think the discussion above should be archived, if not for other reasons than because it links to a place that was even than not part of this project any more. Furthermore, I would argue that as of now the regions are entirely superfluous and we can do without them until and unless this here article gets to unwieldy. I was actually thinking of moving Rügen up to a region below the state region. But I do see your point on the other sub-regions, there is little content and only a few towns. --Traveler100 (talk) 14:52, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
So if we removed the current sub-regions and make Rugia a region of the state there are only 3 towns (Kühlungsborn, Güstrow, Heringsdorf) not listed on this page. I think we could break the 9 in a list guideline in this case as the current solution is even more annoying, but we could also split the list between cities and towns or some other sub-title like coastal and inland towns. --Traveler100 (talk) 08:16, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sounds like a good idea. If I am not mistaken the vast majority of tourists in this area go to the seaside towns, anyway and there is not all that much business travel going on (as evidenced by the lack of both a 100 mph / 160 km/h plus ICE and decent plane connections) Hobbitschuster (talk) 11:28, 4 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
