Girón is a city in the Santander department of Eastern Andino. It is 10 km from Bucaramanga, and is famous for its colonial downtown.

By bus

Bucaramanga's bus terminal is located between Bucaramanga and Girón. Buses coming from Medellín can stop on the main road a few blocks from the town's main plaza.

By bus

Bucaramanga's local buses cover Girón. Buses to Bucaramanga can be hailed along Calle 28 in the old quarter. They go to various locations in the City. Most will pass near the bus terminal on the way. For the terminal ask the driver to let you at the steps leading to the bridge just west of the terminal.

Coming from Bucaramanga, buses to Girón can be hailed from many places around town (Carreras 15, 22, 33, etc...). Look for the red "Trans Giron" buses. Fares are COP$2,400 (Jan 2024).

From the airport of Palonegro (Bucaramanga) it's 10 minutes by taxi. 15 minutes by taxi from the center of Bucaramanga. COP$30,000.
