Jičín is in Hradec Králové region in East Bohemia on the Cidlina river. The historic town centre is well preserved. The town's history is connected with Albrecht von Wallenstein who rebuilt the town, and many sights bear his name. In 2023, the town was home to about 16,000 people.

Jičín is about 85 km (53 mi) northeast of Prague.

By bus[edit]

Bus departs from Černý Most bus station and take 90 mins.

By car[edit]

Jičín is at the crossroad of Route 16 (from Prague direction) and Route 35 (from Hradec Králové).

By train[edit]

Trains from Prague Train Station take 2 hours to reach 1 Jičín station. Jičín (Q18180286) on Wikidata. Take R10 train to Nymburk and transfer to S21. They are slower and more expensive than buses.

By air[edit]

  • North of the town is the Baroque summer house of Albrecht von Wallenstein called Valdštejnská Loggia. The original game park around it is nowadays a park called Libosad.
