Jump to navigation Jump to search

Miradouro da Lua is an impressive set of cliffs outside of Luanda, Angola. It is Angola's most visited tourist attraction.

Understand[edit]

Miradouro da Lua

Miradouro da Lua, Portuguese for "viewpoint of the moon", is a strikingly-beautiful tri-colour karst formation created by wind and rain erosion. It's best to visit at sunset, when the cliffs turn a deep red.

Get in[edit]

From Luanda, drive roughly 40 kilometres (25 mi) south on Highway 100. The turnoff to the parking lot is on the right. There isn't much signage, so keep an eye out.

Eat[edit]

There are a few restaurants on the beach below the cliffs which you can drive down to.
