Merge to Aurora[edit]

- Seems like a doubtful nomination. From w:Geneva, Illinois: "Geneva is a popular tourist destination with its scenic location along the Fox River and numerous shops and restaurants. There is an extensive bike trail system in Geneva including portions of the Fox River Trail and the Illinois Prairie Path. Geneva has an active historical society, the Geneva History Center, located in downtown Geneva as well as the Fabyan Windmill, an old Dutch windmill dating back to the 1850s." There are sections for five historical sites in the article and some fairly interesting-sounding events (though no dates are mentioned, we could probably find information on websites for the events). This needs work and enlargement, not a merge. And by the way, this is not a very small town: 21,393 per the 2020 Census. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:23, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- It's been six years to get to the state of having one listing. It should not have been created if there was no intent to build it into a useful travel article. - No, this is about what to do going forward and what's of most use to travelers. It's more useful to use the Wikipedia article as a reference and create some content. I oppose a merge. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:20, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- If there were someone willing to expand the article, we wouldn't be having this discussion. No one has shown interest in expanding this article in the last six years. What is of most use to travellers is not to have an article that lists a single ice cream parlour. That violates WV:WIAA. If someone expands the article in the next couple of weeks, of course I will withdraw the nomination. Ground Zero (talk) 20:08, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- Be patient. If you two are not willing to take any of the obvious steps to expand the article, I will do some work by myself. You know me and remember when I did that for a smaller town with a historic district in Pennsylvania, so you might have thought that was implied in my remarks, but I'm making it explicit now.
