I would prefer this banner over the existing one: Danapit (talk) 08:27, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever you like, I think both banners are ok. If you decide to change it, the lead picture should be changed to a picture that is brighter and does not include the Round House of Hakaniemi otherwise they look too similar. ϒpsilon (talk) 09:27, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Onda and Siltanen at Helsinki/Inner East[edit]

Swept in from the pub

Helsinki/Inner East has separate listings for both Onda and Siltanen. Onda is a lunch restaurant, Siltanen is a nightclub. The actual physical venues share the exact same premises and are probably owned and served by the same people as well, although they have separate websites. Should the listings be kept separate or merged? JIP (talk) 19:23, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JIP, we usually merge these, especially in a large city like Helsinki, and put the resulting item at the more important name/more relevant section. Think about something like "Siltanen is a popular nightclub with live music, blinking lights, and a collection of regular patrons who love to dance. During the day, the venue does double-duty as the Onda restaurant". Sometimes we do keep them separate, so if you think that it's better for the traveler to see separate listings in this instance, then that's okay. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:50, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There are ten mid-range eateries, which is more than our 7±2. The entry says it specialises in vegetarian food, and there is only one other in the list doing that. The Bars and pubs listing has a decent description, but I note that it refers to a third place at the same address (next door), Kuudes linja in Nightclubs. There are 18 listings in Bars and pubs, although only nine with any description. I don't know Kallio pubs and nightlife, so cannot judge. –LPfi (talk) 11:50, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We do not limit restaurants to 9. 7+2 applies strictly to non-bottom-level articles only. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:08, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not strictly, but long lists should be subdivided, and Wikivoyage isn't the Yellow Pages. If a list has 18 listings, it makes sense to remove a restaurant's entry from that list if it is equally valid in all three where it can be found. But if its pub is important among the pubs, then it should probably stay, and anyway the list should perhaps be broken up. With such long lists I often remove listings without descriptions, at least if info cannot be easily found. –LPfi (talk) 19:50, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:58, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
