Singlish

In the Communication section, it says that Singlish is used. However, doesn't "Singlish" refer to a colloquial language spoken in Singapore which is a mix of English, various Chinese dialects, Tamil and Malay? @SHB2000: oh wow i was not aware of this, Sri Lankans in particular call this "singlish" and since it's not a globally accepted term for that specific definition i'll remove it from the page. Arep Ticous 07:20, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

lol yeah, the sinhala one isn't that official, its more of an urban term that has inadvertently become part of the Sri Lankan vocabulary. Pretty sure that this term is rarely used in the rural areas of the country, but i thought that it would be a nice addition, a speck of extra knowledge if you will... Well even though I'm a Sri Lankan by birth, I'm not really sure if this is completely accepted by the locals, i've seen frequent use of it by local vendors and taxi drivers, and it's quite similar to what's shown in the singapore page, normally incorporating less english, but i'd rather get more information on this. Otherwise i would be writing the section under an assumption and that won't necessarily look good nor would it benefit the reader. I was unaware of this at first and i was pretty sure that "singlish" was the term used for this, but now i feel like i should wait for further corroboration. Arepticous 07:59, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
