Change Of Name[edit]

Heart of England is the marketing slogan of the tourist board for this region, NOT the name of the region. In general usage in the UK it would be called The Midlands; in more international usage The English Midlands. -- (WT-en) Chris j wood 19:55, 18 Jul 2004 (EDT)

What about Midlands (England)? --(WT-en) Evan 23:00, 18 Jul 2004 (EDT)
Evan. Yup, that probably is better; English Midlands is putting the disambiguator first, isn't it. Actually I think I'm going to split this region into two, as it has too many counties in it right now, and doing so will reflect the official regional definitions (see Talk:England/OfficialRegions). In which case I'll name the results West Midlands (England) and East Midlands (England). That seem ok?. -- (WT-en) Chris j wood 13:57, 19 Jul 2004 (EDT)

Misplaced Destinations or Missing Shires?[edit]

Are these destinations misplaces or are the Shires left out of the region list?

Both the Cotswolds and the Peak District are large enough to embrace more than one county and / or region - they can't be placed into simply one box (WT-en) Pjamescowie 02:35, 5 Feb 2005 (EST)

West /East Midlands[edit]

These are the current Wikivoyage English regions, created in 2008. I am moving the content to these pages. (WT-en) Chris1515 18:12, 2 March 2010 (EST)
