I recently visitted Weert. When at the railway station it appeared that the staffed shop and storage area no longer existed and an automated facility is now in place. I propose to edit the getting around section to show this unless someone knows better? Colinlangdon (talk) 14:13, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please plunge forward and update the article. ϒpsilon (talk) 14:22, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Many railway stations and -shops in the Netherlands are being either automated or removed all together. This can only be explained by the fairly recent OV-chipkaart, which is replacing the single tickets. With a card that can be reused, there no longer exists a need to staff the ticket booths, and because waiting times for these boots are no longer existing as the booths have been removed at all stations, the shops at stations are also going away.
As for Weert, I have no idea how long the shop has been automated, but at least now you have an explanation why :)
