Mainly active at Appropedia, the sustainability wiki. I've traveled a little bit in Asia, mainly Indonesia, as part of my interest in sustainability and international development.

I'd like to see articles on such things as green travel, eco-tourism and carbon offsets. Perhaps Wikivoyage could do some joint work with Appropedia - e.g. see Appropedia's Eco-tourism page.

Travel philosophy

As I work on an unfunded non-profit, I'm traveling on a very tight budget. Thus I find CouchSurfing[1] great (my profile) - other hospitality sites haven't grabbed me as much. I've joined Help Exchange, very cheap, and plan to use that to travel in Australia, working 3 or 4 hours a day in exchange for accomodation, sometimes food, and internet. And perhaps best of all, it will give me a chance to stay on permaculture farms and other cool places. I may join WWOOF[2] if I decide I need more choices.

This is not just a way of travel imposed by a budget, though. This is a way of traveling and meeting people that appeals to me, and sits well with my philosophy of simple living and seeking new experiences.

Travel plans

I'm looking forward to spending time in the USA in 2008, as well as visiting Indonesia (yet again), maybe Iceland, and also hopefully Alexandria for Wikimania 2008. Europe will be an even bigger stretch for the finances, so I'm not thinking about that right now.
