Hello Borisgiulivi! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 20:56, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Roman districts

[edit]

I've fully reverted your changes to Rome and its districts, because there is an existing consensus for the districts as I reorganized them. Wikivoyage works by Project:Consensus, and it will be necessary to first discuss your proposed changes on the talk page for Rome. I am certainly amenable to changes in the Roman district hierarchy, as it was created without input from native Romans, and is likely not ideal. But please first carefully read both Project:Consensus, which explains the process by which we make decisions on Wikivoyage, and Project:Geographical hierarchy#Districts_in_cities, which explains the logic behind how we divide cities into districts. It might also be useful to read over Talk:Chicago/Districts_discussion, which will give you plenty of insight into how this process works. But above all, please do not make such sweeping changes without first discussing your proposal. Such edits without consensus only lead to edit warring, which is a waste of everyone's time. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 20:56, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Hello again. I wanted to make clear that I don't necessarily disagree with the way you wish to organize Rome into districts. I do, however, take issue with the procedure by which you were reorganizing content. We had discussed the new district borders for 1/2 a year before I actually implemented the new hierarchy, and had an agreement on how to do it. It's necessary to discuss further changes before making them. Wikivoyage relies upon consensus and discussion to avoid edit wars. Lets continue the discussion about how best to organize Rome into districts at Talk:Rome#Round II. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 13:58, 19 October 2008 (EDT)
