Indian evisa issues
Does anyone have experience with India's evisa system? I am one of many having a headache with the file requirements It's very hard to convert an image to a pdf between 10 and 300kb, because you can't set a pdf to exact file limits.
After two hours of randomly resizing I get a file of 20kb, only to get the message "please upload only pdf file" ... Apparently pdf.pdf.pdf wasn't a pdf document
I've honestly got no idea where to go from here, there is no tech support and nothing I could see on the forums

Medicare for UK visitors to Australia
As a UK citizen visiting Australia, what issues might I encounter, registering for Medicare? I’m spending four weeks in Australia, starting in Brisbane. My travel insurance stipulates: "If you are travelling to Australia you must register with Medicare on arrival". How long will registration take? What paperwork do I need?

- The details are here, complete with a link to a pdf form which you need to complete and print. However I think that you should ask the insurance company to tell you the details. If we answer the question here and you can't register because you didn't bring your council tax bill or whatever then that is your problem. However if the insurance company don't tell you that you need something and you can't register then it becomes their problem - they should not invalidate the policy. Looking for a destination picker
I've had no luck finding what I want. Imagine that you have a small group that wants to get together, e.g., six people in six different places. I'd like a calculator that lets you plug in their six cities, and have it report which one is likely to be the cheapest (ideally, airfare plus hotel, but at least airfare) for the other five to travel to. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Handicapped parking tags
I'm planning on taking my mom to Montreal this fall for a couple of days for her birthday. She had her knees replaced about a year ago and has one of those temporary handicapped parking tags that you hang off your rearview mirror. Are those accepted for use in Quebec? I know that U.S. states almost always recognize each other's handicapped parking permits, but I'm not sure if the same is true across the international border. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 22:03, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- I've done a bit of digging and came up with this. Under point 2, I selected "Je réside hors Québec et j’ai une vignette de stationnement pour personnes handicapées", and then "Ma vignette a été délivrée au Canada, aux États-Unis ou dans un pays membre du Forum international des transports (FIT)", which I assume applies to your mother's case. And I got this answer: "Dans ce cas, vous n'avez aucune demande à nous faire. Vous pouvez utiliser votre vignette au Québec à condition que le symbole international de fauteuil roulant y figure." - You're good to go :-) --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 23:43, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
- So it seems the parking tag from any country member of the International Transport Forum would be valid. Probably that goes both ways (Finnish legislation talks about "the international sign"). It seems more or less all countries in North America and Europe are members, and a dozen elsewhere. --LPfi (talk) 16:11, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- If we could get this confirmed, it would be nice to add it to Travellers with disabilities. --LPfi (talk) 16:14, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- I agree. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:42, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- Merci à ThunderingTyphoons! pour cette information ! Ça rendra sans doute plus facile notre voyage à Montréal. :) -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 16:44, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- Je vous en prie, monsieur Carrotflower ! Bien cordialement, ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:48, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

A127 road closures
Is the A127 blocked right now? -- Asked by: 95.145.233.206 19:34, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- What country or place are you asking about? --76.69.47.228 21:22, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- I assume that you are asking about the w:A127 road, in Essex, England. I would suggest listening to local radio for traffic reports, we can't give that sort of an update here. AlasdairW (talk) 22:34, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe try Google Traffic or Waze. 202.155.85.18 06:20, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

- I doubt that there is any tool that can completely answer your question, especially when you take in the complications that will likely arise (Fred can't leave work until 4pm on Friday, but Joe and Jill can leave at 1pm, Jim is short of cash...). However w:Momondo may be of some help. It will plot a graph of how the airfare for a route varies over a few weeks, and will give some costs for different destiantions in a vague area, like a country or state.
- I would suggest asking each of the attendees to send you the costs of possible accommodation in their area - renting a house may be a better deal than 6 hotel rooms, and best found by somebody who can wander past possible places. This may narrow the choice of destinations and then you can ask people to give their travel costs to the shortlisted places. AlasdairW (talk) 20:32, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
