What happened to visual editing?

Swept in from the pub

Since yesterday I have only been able to edit using the source editor and not visual editing. Why is this, and how can I get it reverted? Qazzy52 (talk) 07:14, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

If I may ask, what device are you using to edit Wikivoyage? (works on my Apple MacBook Pro (15", M1, 2021) using macOS Ventura on Google Chrome) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 08:38, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

@Qazzy52, open the editing window, and look on the far side of the toolbar for a pencil icon. That will let you switch back to the visual mode.

If you want a more permanent solution, look in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing for the "Editing mode" options. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:00, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

there is no pencil option in the toolbar. The checkbox to enable/disable visual editing does nothing, even if unchecked. for some reason replying to posts here still lets me use visual though Qazzy52 (talk) 22:52, 26 June 2023 (UTC)

@Qazzy52, in the normal editing window, the default toolbar looks like this:

nevermind - i tried it today and the pencil option appeared this time. Not sure why it didn't happen the past few days Qazzy52 (talk) 04:12, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
