Wolfratshausen is a wood rafting town in Upper Bavaria.
Understand
[edit]Wolfratshausen, first mentioned in 1003 as Wolueradeshusun, is immediately south of the confluence of the Loisach and Isar, the junction of two important traffic arteries to Mittenwald and Garmisch . Until the construction of the railway line from Munich to Mittenwald around 1889, rafting was the most important transport route for trade from the south / Italy and thus the most important source of income in the village for centuries.
