Turiec is a region in Central Slovakia.

The county arose before the 15th century as part of Hungarian empire. It's one of the more developed Slovak regions, mostly industrial.

- 1 Ferrata HSZ. An easy ferrata along a ravine/stream ending in the Martinské hole area.

- 2 Martinské hole. A laid back ski area, however beware that the car access is unidirectional during winter. You can only enter or leave at certain times, and winter car equipment is mandatory.
- 3 Valčianska valley. Quite a popular area (high car traffic to be expected).
