List of things to work on

Is there a list of things to do, like English Wikipedia’s Dashboard? Vital Articles Grammar (talk) 08:26, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No. But please have a look at Wikivoyage:Welcome, newcomers for some ideas. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:05, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vital Articles Grammar: perhaps are you looking for Wikivoyage:Community portal? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 23:13, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vital Articles Grammar, there is a list of ideas at Wikivoyage:Ways to help Wikivoyage. Wikivoyage doesn't do much with adding maintenance templates, but there are some problems you can identify in Category:Articles needing attention. WhatamIdoing (talk) 19:08, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you get asylum, the host country should take care of your basic needs. Getting to a place where you can ask for asylum may be difficult, and likewise to get it if you cannot show a concrete threat (and even then). If you cooperated with some foreign agancy they might be able to arrange something. I assume some of your compatriots have better information on possible routes than we have.
The other possibility is to get a job abroad, which may also be difficult. Likewise, your contacts may be able to tell where you have the best chances.

There are certainly lots of Afghan refugees in Pakistan, some in Iran & perhaps other nearby countries. I'm not sure how you might reach one of those places, but my guess is it would be difficult & dangerous. Shortest trips would be Mazar-e-Sharif to Termez or Herat to Mashad, but I have no idea what route would be easiest or safest.
Some reports say conditions in refugee camps are difficult, but still likely better than staying in Af. There is some international aid reaching the camps & some Western countries have sent officials to process immigration applications. My impression is that the officials are overworked & there are not nearly enough places for all the refugees. Everything is therefore slow. It does sometimes work, though; I've met Afghan refugees in Canada.
The governments of least Canada, the US & Australia have been criticized in the press for not doing enough to help Afghans who worked with them (translators etc.), but they all say they are doing everything they can. Pashley (talk) 08:05, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I lived in Iran & Saudi Arabia, & at least at that time (40 years ago) both countries had lots of Afghan workers, mostly in menial labour jobs but I met one Afghan doctor. I'm told Dubai has even more. I do not know how they recruit, but maybe you could find out. Pashley (talk) 08:30, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
