Pearl Lagoon also known as Laguna de Perlas is a town on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, across the bay from Bluefields.

Understand

Pearl Lagoon is a small town, with dirt roads and palm trees with an English speaking Creole community. The town has roughly 5000 inhabitants.

Get in

By boat

Boats from Bluefields (roughly US$10 one way) used to be the only practicable way of getting there, however in recent times dirt roads to the town have been built.

By bus

There is one daily bus from Rama leaving at 15:00 and returning to Rama at 6:00. Reportedly there is also a direct bus from Managua's Mercado Mayoreo (where buses to Rama leave), but don't count on it.
