Take a ferry from Klaipeda. Ferries run very often, no need to prebook. Journey about 5-10 minutes, cost (2015) €11.05 for a car and €0.80 for a passenger.

Fees and permits

There is an entrance fee for a car which depends on a season. As of 2015 it was €5 during low season and €10 high season (July and August). Fee is payable in a toll booth.

  • 1 Hill of Witches (Raganų Kalnas). Take a walk at the Hill of Witches in Juodkranté where there are about 80 wooden sculptures of witches and other characters from myths and fairy tales. Look for the stairs up to the hill next to main road. Paid parking is available very close to it, free parking is 500 m in Nida direction. Do

  • Go to swimming or sunbathing in a beach near Nida (there is also a nude beach). Beach is 2 km from Nida, on the other side of the main road of the peninsula. Free (but limited space) parking is just next to the road.
  • Where it is allowed to walk on the beach (on Baltic sea side shore) you can try to find amber on the beach.
